STREET ART AS A FUNCTION OF BRANDING AND PRODUCT PACKAGING DESIGN

Brief
uWeed is a platform for selling various CBD products based in Switzerland. After positioning themselves as an important marketplace for the sale of this type of item, they also created their CBD Hash product, which needed a striking visual identity before being released. The agency's task was to develop a complete branding and packaging design that should exude a retro and funky style.
Solution
In the beginning, we explored the possibilities for packaging CBD products, keeping in mind factors such as quality preservation, distribution, and packaging. We chose spider packaging because of its practicality and economy, and then we could start the branding process.
Apart from knowing it is a CBD hash item, the brief also came with the name Moust’hash. An interesting play on words inspired us to experiment with an element that turned out to be an excellent basis for branding – the mustache. The mustache is precisely the dominant part of the logo, from which the visual story was further developed. As the idea was to convey a retro, funky vibe through the entire branding, and especially the packaging, we established cooperation with street artist and multimedia worker Shpir, known for his impressive and urban works.
According to the brief, he designed an illustration that builds on the logo, and that’s how we came up with a visual story that matches the client’s initial idea. The illustration, which consists of bright, vibrant colors with a bold approach and playful elements, contributed to a visual impression that conveys the energy and spirit of funky culture.
The mustache, as a basic visual element, proved to be excellent for the further development of branding, so each of the 15 CBD products received a special mustache style. The mustaches are made in the form of stickers, which are stuck on the packaging, which proved to be a practical solution for distinguishing between products. In this way, we also optimized the investment in product packaging. Mustache stickers additionally highlight the eye-catcher on which information about the percentage of CBD in the product is placed, which is particularly important to end customers. With this, the designed design confirmed its utility and its already obvious aesthetic value.Once again, it has been shown that constant research and combinding of different design directions can yield the best solutions, which are ideal for atypical products such as CBD items sold online.
